This map shows Europe in 1821, the apex of the Napoleonic Empire where Napoleon stood as the undisputed ruler of all of Europe, and arguably, the world. After 8 Coalition Wars and over a quarter century of non-stop violence Napoleon had brought France back to its former glory, controlling more Europe than the Valois dynasty of old could of ever hoped to own. With a strategic alliance with the Sunni Ottoman Empire, Pagan North Sea Empire, and Republicans of all nationalities and religions Napoleon had defeated centuries old empires, forced them to bow before, and bring about a new age of progress and reform. However, with his death on May 5th, this world which he had dedicated his entire life to was about explode in a conflict anew, leading to the deadliest war in European history since the Ninety Years' War.

Here is a quick summary of all eight of the Wars of the Coalitions:

War of the First Coalition (1792 - 1793):
Also known as the Valois Restoration and the Great Defeat.

French First Republic
vs.
Aragon, England, and the Holy Catholic Alliance.

This war was a massive success for the Coalition and resulted in the death of the First French Republic. However, it also lead to the brutal 17th Catholic against Rome (1793 - 1802) and the devastating civil war in France, known as the Revolutionary Chaos.

War of the Second Coalition (1798 - 1802):
Also known as the War of the Avignon Coalition, the War of Spanish Unification, and the Napoleonic Phase of the 17th Catholic Crusade against Rome.

The Unholy Alliance of the French Second Republic, Spain, and the Holy Catholic Alliance
vs.
Aragon, England, Sweden, Two Sicilies, Hungary, the Livonian Order, Wales, Cornwall, Lancaster, and Ulster.

This war was a massive failure on the part of the Coalition, who never expected that revolutionary France and the conservative HCA would team up against their common foe. This war lead the death of the once major power, Aragon.

War of the Third Coalition (1803 - 1805):
Also known as the War of the Holy Catholic Coalition and the Glorious Reconquest of Schleswig-Holstein.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Quebec, Guiana, Haiti, Vermont, Florida, Louisiana, and the Second French Empire
vs.
Yugoslavia, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the Holy Catholic Alliance.

This war was a victory for the Revolution as the Holy Catholic Alliance did not stand a chance against the growing revolutionary tide that continued to grow stronger everyday. This war also was the first time in centuries that the Holy Catholic Alliance suffered a defeat and was forced to concede territory, leading to a great loss of national prestige.

War of the Fourth Coalition (1806 - 1808):
Also known as the War of the First Grand Coalition and the Rise of the Ottoman Empire.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Scotland, Novgorod, the Ottoman Empire, Quebec, Guiana, Haiti, Vermont, Florida, Louisiana, and the Second French Empire
vs.
The United Kingdom, Sweden, Athens, Sparta, Epirus, Bulgaria, the Brotherhood of the Sepulchre, Pskov, Smolensk, Chernigov, Ryazan, Two Sicilies, Carthage, Muscovy, Yugoslavia, Romania, Bessarabia, Bukovina, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Eternal City of Constantinople and the Holy Catholic Alliance. Essentially, the majority of Europe.

Despite the Grand Coalition holding a sizable numerical superiority over the Revolutionary forces, this war was a still victory for the Revolution thanks to the brilliant tactics of Napoleon. In addition the Battle of Trafalgar was a great French victory with the 40 ships of the Franco-Spanish fleet managing to defeat the attacking 75 Coalition ships.

War of the Fifth Coalition (1809 - 1814):
Also known as the War of the First Grand Coalition and the Rise of the Ottoman Empire.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Scotland, Novgorod, the Ottoman Empire, the Golden Horde, the Republic of Hibernia, Quebec, Guiana, Haiti, Vermont, Florida, Louisiana, Lotharingia, Sardinia, the Parthenopean Republic, the Sextinsular Republic, and Second French Empire
vs.
The United Kingdom, Sweden, Epirus, Bulgaria, the Brotherhood of the Sepulchre, Chernigov, Ryazan, Two Sicilies, Texas, Jamaica, Brazil, Muscovy, Yugoslavia, Romania, Bessarabia, Albania, Cossack Hetmanate, Kazan Khanate, Kipchak Khanate, Khanate of Crimea, Great Perm, Trebizond, Georgia, Alania, Bukovina, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Eternal City of Constantinople and the Holy Catholic Alliance. In total the Second Grand Coalition stood at tall at 28 sovereign nations.

This war represented the last dying flail of independent Europe, as all of the Reactionary forces of Europe and the New World faced off against all the Revolutionary forces lead by Napoleon. The Holy Catholic Alliance featured a decisive defeat at the Battle of Siena where 300,000 Holy Catholic troops mounted a last stand attempt against Napoleon's 135,000 man strong invasion. 30,000 of these men died in just one hour when Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher, Grandmaster of the Order of Saint Anthony, the Order that serves as the secret police of the Holy Catholic Alliance, ordered his corps of mainly teenage conscripts to charge against the Napoleon’s main artillery battery in a hope to knock it out of battle. The deaths of these 30,000 men would forever be remember as the 30,000 saints for their martyrdom against the evil Napoleonic hordes. The Battle featured a sword duel between Emperor Napoleon I and Holy Papal Emperor Frederick William III in what is called the Duel of Two Emperors. After 5 minutes of intense fencing, Frederick managed to knock Napoleon’s sword out of his hand and pointed his saber at his throat. The HPE then asked Napoleon, “What are your last words?” to which Napoleon responded, “Interesting last words, my rival.” As Napoleon spoke these words, he pulled a handgun out of his back pocket and then proceeded to shoot the Holy Papal Emperor in the head, thus ending the duel. With their army destroyed and their leader dead, Napoleon was able to walk into Rome unopposed and force the surrender of the Holy Catholic Alliance. The resulting Treaty of Schonbrunn implemented harsh terms on all members of the Coalition, destroying centuries old empires and ending the First Holy Catholic Alliance. This war would also lead to seven years of needed peace to much of mainland Europe.

War of the Sixth Coalition (1816 - 1818):
Also known as the War of the Shia Coalition, the Fall of Cordoba, and the Reconquest of Egypt.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Scotland, Novgorod, the Ottoman Empire, the Golden Horde, the Republic of Hibernia, the Helvetic Republic, the Cispadane Republic, Montenegro, Transylvania, the Curonian Republic, the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, Lodomeria, Alania, the Republic of the Rhine, Holland, Lombardy, Quebec, Guiana, Haiti, Vermont, Florida, Louisiana, Lotharingia, Sardinia, the Parthenopean Republic, the Sextinsular Republic, and Second French Empire
vs.
The Caliphate of Cordoba, the Khedivate of Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Haasa, Sharjah, Gujarat, and the Persian Empire.

This war was one of the next three coalition wars called the Outremer Wars, due to the fact that they were mainly fought overseas. These wars were also much easier for the French Empire to deal with than had been case in the previous European wars, however they still caused the deaths of millions of French soldiers due mainly to dehydration and diseases. This war featured the big three Shia powers, Cordoba, Egypt, and Persia declaring war on the Ottoman Empire along with most of the Shia states. This war turned into a major failure for the Shia, resulting in the death of Cordoba, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Haasa, Sharjah, Yemen, and Gujarat. Only the Persia escaped alive, though large chunks of the country had been annexed by the Ottoman Empire, leaving Persia a shadow of its former self.

War of the Seventh Coalition (1817 - 1821):
Also known as the War of the American Coalition, the Radical Peasants' Revolt, and the Great Patriotic Defense.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Scotland, Novgorod, the Ottoman Empire, the Golden Horde, the Republic of Hibernia, the Helvetic Republic, the Cispadane Republic, Montenegro, Transylvania, the Curonian Republic, the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, Lodomeria, Alania, the Republic of the Rhine, Holland, Lombardy, Quebec, Lotharingia, Sardinia, the Parthenopean Republic, the Sextinsular Republic, and Second French Empire
vs.
The Republic of Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Antilles Confederation, Suriname, Guiana, Vermont, Florida, Jamaica, Uruguay, Liberia, and the Seven States of America.

This war was the result of decades of conflict between two competing revolutionary ideologies, that of Bonapartism and that of Washingtonism. Bonapartism advocated for social reform, greater income equality, and a strong monarch to ensure the suppress of the bourgeoisie. Washingtonism on the other hand, called for some social reforms, freedom of business, and a democratic government. While the ideologies coexisted for a while, united in their opposition to conservatism and feudalism, after Napoleon had conquered almost all of Europe the debate between the two flared up again. As a result, a new coalition was formed of democratic states in the New World, united in their opposition to monarchism. This war ended inconclusively at the start of the War of the Ninth Coalition and while the French legions managed to burn down the White House and murder the Jefferson family, throughout the rural forests and hills of the Seven States of America the seven-starred banner yet waved over the land of free and the home of the brave.

War of the Eighth Coalition (1818 - 1820):
Also known as the War of the Islamist Coalition and the United Jihad.

Spain, the North Sea Empire, Scotland, Novgorod, the Ottoman Empire, the Golden Horde, the Republic of Hibernia, the Helvetic Republic, the Cispadane Republic, Montenegro, Transylvania, the Curonian Republic, the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, Lodomeria, Alania, the Republic of the Rhine, Holland, Lombardy, Quebec, Lotharingia, Sardinia, the Parthenopean Republic, the Sextinsular Republic, and Second French Empire
vs.
Algeria, the Barbary Republic, Tripolitania, Cyrenaica, Hejaz, Asir, Nejd, Jabal Shammar, Yemen, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, the Quaiti Emirate, the Mahra Emirate, Dhofar, Muscat, and the Omani Imamate.

This war was the declared by an unorthodox coalition of Ibadi and Sunni states in North Africa and Arabia against the Ottoman Empire. Under the influence of Napoleon, the Ottoman Empire had under gone a series of reform, including the removal of imams from positions of power and the recommendation of the Sultan himself against veiling women. This angered many conservative Muslims of all Islamic faiths, resulting in their united jihad against the Great Satan of the Ottoman Empire. However, like the Shia Coalition before it, this coalition was also defeated by Napoleon and the Ottoman's revolutionary forces, though it once again the weaken both of their empires with millions of deaths to attrition.
